Dea Ex Machina
Swoosh Lieu

It’s raining: In times of anti-feminist rollback, we face the dystopias envisioned by feminist pioneers. It is from this vantage point that Swoosh Lieu embark on a queerfeminist future together with their audience and an ensemble of stage tools. They hack narrative styles, lines of sight and stage technology systems, build new networks, genders and machines, as they question concepts of kinship. In their call for the pleasurable blurring and responsible use of boundaries, they mobilize imagination as a machine of liberation:

We have always woven against hegemony
Mistakes are an opportunity and transformation means emancipation
Technology is our liberation and not our oppression
Nothing is connected to everything; everything is connected to something
Make kin, not babies
Whatever the future will be, we are ready and so is our rainbow
