The Booth
Sharing Practice: Nastya Dzyuban
Part of "Islands of Connecting Tissue"
A large, asymetrical net like an island fills the room ...
In ISLANDS OF CONNECTING TISSUE we invite you to performative gatherings and to share artistic practices with each other: in open workhshop formats - sharing practices - we inspire each other and learn from each other under the instruction of various artists, who bring their current practices. From 5. - 7. April there will be two sharing practices per day, plus the premiere of the music theater SIRENS OF THE O by and with Jasmina Rezig and Marja Christians. On 5. April the oceanographer Ina Nagler will be there for an artist talk afterwards.
Nastya Dzyuban invites to: The Booth
The Booth is a semi-scripted, role-play-based community care practice/score that creates space for (art) practitioners in the (art) field to share the weight of their (artistic) survival with one another. It invites us, practitioners, to together make space for collective reflection on how we can support each other in examining our practices, methods, challenges, strategies, and their intersections—the ways we structure our lives around them and how all these things shape our bodies and experiences.
The score is practiced by four participants at a time—The Practitioner, The Analyst, The Journalist, and The Fortuneteller—with each session lasting approximately 50 minutes. It is open to anyone who considers themselves a practitioner in their field and is curious either to share or to listen actively. No special skills or preparation are required.
The Booth has been developing within and alongside ‘Art as social practice’ program 2024/25 through ongoing conversations among Nastya Dzyuban, Delphina O. Hennig, Magdalena Dzeco, Charlotte Perka, Janina Albrecht and many other dear colleagues of the cohort.
Fee: 5 € (cash only)
