Unpopular Opinions
Birgitte Maaike Feddersen (KHiO-Oslo National Academy of the Arts)
Sediments Festival

Welcome to a dinner party celebration of disagreement, freedom of speech, and theatre. A full-course experience of private and public discourse. You will be served few answers, but many questions.

For starters, we offer
“Listen or dismiss?”
Then, for the main course, we present
“Personal or political?”
For dessert, we bring you
“Dialogue or action?”
All accompanied by the overarching flavor of the question
“What does theatre have to do with this?”

This work-in-progress is part of a larger exploration into disagreement dramaturgy, interactive and participatory theatre, and methods of dialogue. It aims to create a space that is both safe and challenging for the audience, where participation can create a foundation for further dialogue.

Unpopular Opinions aims to actively engage in the discussion about artistic freedom and freedom of speech, and therefore has the potential for an interesting reflection on dramaturgy in today's political debates. It also re-emphasises the interactive elements of dramaturgical forms, adding another aspect to the search for sediments of thought.”
