Resurrect your Darlings: Workshop on Recycled Dramaturgy
Hannah Launikovich
Sediments Festival
Sediments as archives, archives as the resurrected 'darlings'. As artists, we are often told to kill our darlings, to bury them at the bottom of creative trash and move on. Within the workshop Resurrect your darlings: workshop on recycled dramaturgy, I propose to look at the trash bin a bit closer, find the 'piled-up' materials, and recycle them. We are going to treat recycling as a dramaturgical approach, work with the notion of a 'second-hand' dramaturgy, and look at it from a sustainability perspective. This is not a place for creating something entirely new - instead, we will try to repair, sample, make a patchwork, a collage, and reflect on how to translate those onto the stage/into a performance. Because one person's trash is another person's treasure. Or darling.
Info for (potential) participants: please bring ideas/dramaturgical approaches/failed or unsuitable choreographies to our collective 'trash bin' – let's explore their recycling potential together.
