Mental Mirrors
part of FREISPIEL 2024: Shifting Futures
Junge Deutsche Philharmonie
MENTAL MIRRORS presents various musical works, which emerged from experiences of mental crisis: Beethoven's Piano Concerto Nr. 4, interpreted by the British pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason, is one of them, as well as works by the American composer Julius Eastman and the contemporary composer Missy Mazzoli. All these works are commented on and interpolated with one another by Leila Akinyi with Rap – clever, radical and bold.
Programme

Missy Mazzoli (born 1980): These Worlds In Us for Chamber Orchestra (2006/2009)
