GLANZ is an arena.
It is a field.
The players take their places on the springboard and the whistle blows!
The game has begun.
The fans cheer!
Three dancers in colorful sportswear lead the audience through an ever-evolving
game with humor, athletic verve, agility, and a dash of glitz and glamour. Whether it's
soccer, volleyball, baseball, basketball, tennis, swimming, or field hockey, whether
they're competing individually for gold or twirling as a team, GLANZ juxtaposes
sports movements with contemporary dance.
Whether it is throwing hoops at home or kicking a ball in the schoolyard, many
elementary school children discover their hobby in a sport. Sporting events like
soccer tournaments or world championships keep children engaged with one
another. In 45 minutes, GLANZ not only deals with movement elements from very
different sports; puts them together in a new way, and transfers them into
choreography, but it also touches on the very essence of what sports can bring to
children: a sense of teamwork, solidarity, competition, losing, being able to win, the
joy of the sport and its victory.
