Can you trust your ears?
What does a sea lion sound like and do you know the love-call of the northern leopard frog?

An ensemble of musicians embarks on a playful exploration of the world of animals. How we are taught to recognize and imitate sounds ("What sound does the cow make?") is part of the fun. The audience is invited to a game show and an ornithological lecture, they ride through a storm with a herd of horses, wade through a swamp full of lovesick frogs, and enjoy a concert at a campfire. But the encounters are not without consequences: Will the birder take flight himself? Is that a snail crawling across the timpani? And is there a secret kinship between animals, instruments, and musicians? In "City with Animals," hearing opens up a world of wonders, and in the end there is even an AI sing-along.

"City with Animals" is an experimental musical theater piece for ages 6 and up, a AI-game-show, a staged children's songbook, and a performance celebrating the more-than-human.
