We crave to be different and celebrate woke language. Nevertheless, we get wet when we see a body grind on a car or when pushing the gas to its max. Is this the deepest abyss of the capitalist consumer world or are these desires subtle drag moments? Why are toxic stone butches so hot and what does all of this have to do with the masculinity crisis? Is there a YouTube channel that can help us? In the performance “Car Guys Gay Trucks and Oil” we play with masculinities: from caring to toxic to petro-masculinity. We flirt with fists, engine hoods and stereotypes. We dive into the sea of gasoline that makes us sparkle, until it forces us to dissolve.
