Space and time for contemporary productions
F°LAB Festival for Performing Arts

The F°LAB Festival for Performing Arts is an interdisciplinary format at Frankfurt LAB, held biennially since 2017, in cooperation with its partner institutions Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, Ensemble Modern, Hessian Theatre Academy, Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and Künstler:innenhaus Mousonturm, as well as the associated International Ensemble Modern Academy.
Within just a few days, the festival presents a multi-layered, interdisciplinary and top-level programme that bundles the synergies of the renowned partners, gets amateurs, students and school pupils to exchange with internationally established artists, and addresses a diverse audience with a wide variety of formats, including events that are free of charge and with as few barriers and limits to accessibility as possible.

F°LAB 2021/2022
The F°LAB Festival for Performing Arts could not take place in 2021, due to the COVID-pandemic. However, a few projects were realized and made us crave more. The F°LAB Festival for Performing Arts finally took place from 30. June - 3. July 2022. You can find the complete program here.

Over four days, you could explore our tightly-packed interdisciplinary programme that let you experience the full range of artistic research and creativity taking place at Frankfurt LAB. Together with the LAB partner institutions, but also in untried constellations and unusual cooperations, artists from all artistic fields created a platform for re-encounters, from productions on the big stage to participative projects in the city. There were also installations, workshops, good food, drinks and musical live-acts. Since F°LAB is made by many for many, everyone was welcome – to watch art happen, discuss, enjoy, take part or hang out.
